Trad Jazz    An American musical art form 

Jazz is one of the few musical art forms originating in America. Springing from within African-American communities, the genre was inspired by the convergence of diverse cultural and musical influences flourishing in the melting pot of late 19th century New Orleans.  Military brass bands, African and Cuban rhythms, religious hymns, choral masses, opera and ballet are among the many influences contributing to the blue-notes, syncopation, polyrhythms, swing-notes and improvisation featured in jazz.  Learn more by following these links:
